Node 120 & 190 in Adelaide are getting upgraded into a single new Node 120, which will ~double its hosting capacity and increase the speed of Node 120 in general.
These physical upgrades to Node 120 are scheduled to begin from Saturday night December 28th 2024 through to late on Sunday night of January 5th.
During this period both Node 120 & 190 will be restarted some # of times and will be offline for short periods during physical works and restarts.
We’ll update this post with comments as this work gets underway.
These works are on-track to start from this coming weekend.
We’ll do various VPS migrations to minimise any long-term downtime of affected services.
Works have been delayed, but may still get underway this weekend if all goes to plan.
As January has kicked off quickly already, I’m going to review the staging of this upgrade and migrations and I’ll post further on this work shortly in January.
Ok, so this weekend is it, the night of Jan 24th through to 10pm on Jan 27th.
Incorporating the public holiday on Monday Jan 27th.
I’ll first start on getting serv190 ready for this integration & upgrade works with some downtime on it over the night of Friday Jan 24th.
Then serv120 will experience downtime from tomorrow morning, Saturday January 25th 2025 while we progress this upgrade & its migrations.
This work has started tonight & will be on-going for many hours.
VPS on Node 120 & 190 will be offline during this upgrades works & I’ll update here.
